One evening in the Spring of 2010, Geoff & Justin Guess had a group of guys visiting their home to just hang-out. Something awesome happened! Suddenly, the Holy Spirit showed up in a powerful way. For hours the Presence of the Lord was both tangible and intense. These young men experienced His Presence for days and weeks following. The testimonies were, and still are, amazing. Little did Geoff and Justin know was that God was in the process of birthing an incredible ministry. The word of what happened spread to their friends, and before they knew it, there were over thirty young men gathering together to experience this move of God. Shortly thereafter, a prophetic word came forth that they were to call themselves “The Swordsmen”.
Today, “The Swordsmen” is a group of young men desiring to go deeper in what God has for them in their giftings, callings and destinies. The mission of the Swordsmen Ministry is to raise up disciples (end-time warriors) and send them out into the community equipped with the Word of God to ignite a fire for Jesus Christ. We really believe that God has a special calling for the youth of this generation to impact the world for the Kingdom of God.
The group ranges from high school to college age. And, they currently are meeting on Thursday evenings at the home of Geoff & Justin Guess.
